The reason why it was not accepting a number higher than 1 is that you did not have enough to be able to make more than 1.  From the screen shot you posted, it shows that it requires 8 bushels of wood to make one batch.  You had 15 bushels of wood.  To make 2 batches, you would need at least 16.  3 batches would need at least 24.  Closing out issue as it is working as expected.
