Chapter 4
"Rumors have it, Robert, that one of the most wanted individuals are in town," the Emperor told Robert. "I want you to find out more. I want you to help us find him. Are you up to that," the Emperor asked him. Robert nodded and replied, "I will do my best." The Emperor smiled and waved him to go.
Robert bowed and exited out of the palace. He stepped outside the palace gates and grinned. "Another excuse to get into the open air and maybe even see her," he said to himself. Whistling, he walked down the street and thought of the time they had shared together. "I swear sometimes she just can't get out of my mind," he commented to himself.
Walking into the bar, Robert sat down at a table and looked around. He noticed a few guys at the bar who sounded like they have had too much to drink. "I guess I should be looking for that one guy, but I wonder what he looks like. Darn, I don't know... guess I can't find him," he commented with a smile.
Out of the corner of his eye, a lady caught his attention. He smiled and felt his heart jump for joy. He watched her come down the stairs and towards him. "Good day," he said towards April. "Good day," she replied with a smile. She sat down at the table. "Has you day been good," Robert asked. "It has been good. You," she inquired.
"Much better now that I am near you," he whispered to her. She grinned and winked at him. "Maybe later if you are available, we can spend some time together," he asked. "That would be very nice. I look forward to it," she said standing up. "Then I shall see you again soon," Robert commented. "Yes, again very soon," she said with longing. He watched her walk towards the bar and admired her moves.
Arriving at the bar, she heard the two guys talking to each other. "Good day," she said towards the two men and the bartender. "Good day. How are you, my lady," Fue inquired. "Excellent, sir. I hope you are enjoying the drinks," April commented. "Not only that, but the view of the place is nice," Fue replied. "I'm glad that you appreciate the view," April told him.
"Who was that guy you were talking to over there," Fue asked. April looked at Fue and then Robert. "He's one of the locals here," April commented. "I see... Chris here seems to have a sweet tooth for you," Fue said with a grin. Chris glared at Fue and then blushed. April smiled and replied, "Fue, stop projecting your feelings again." Fue looked at her and laughed.
"Now, if you two don't mind, I actually do have work to do," April told them. "Ah, yes, my lady, you do have work to do as do I. Hopefully our paths won't ever be crossed in the wrong way," Fue said. "Have a good day, Fue," she said going behind the counter getting the drawer. She then walked up the stairs and into the office.
"April, what took you so long," a lady said inside. "Mom, sometimes I get caught up by customers," April told her. "I was so worried something would happen to you. You know it's not safe here sometimes, especially since Fue's in town," she told April. "I know. I'm sorry," April told her. "It's ok. It's just I'm a little nervous since what happened that one day," her mom told her. April sat down and prepared her for the story she had heard a time or two before.
Meanwhile, Robert sat at the table in the bar and began to write in his journal. "It's amazing the strong issues that are in this empire. There is so much love for this and so much hate for that. Sometimes I wonder what will end up happening. My father has a deep hate for anything from the old world. However, not all of it should be hated. There was so many good things from the old world. It's just that it's hard at times for people not to lump things all together.
"Love is a gift that one should never lose the sight of how important it is. Love guides our hearts. With it, nothing can be bad. Without love, hate corrupts our hearts. It makes us forget the good things around us. It makes us forget who we really are. To me, if I am going to lose myself to something, I would rather lose myself to love than hate.
"I am so thankful that I have April in my life. Without her, I'm not sure how my life would be. I know I could live without her, but why? After all, love is such a great thing to have. Thank you April."
