New Day
By Ginger Blonde (1997)

Deep black covering everywhere,
The stars glowing as the only light.
The nightbirds nestling down to sleep
As the darkness, black and deep,
Slowly lightens with the night--
The day takes seat in high chair.

The sky lightens to gray
And the world takes shape.
All around the creatures stir
And they stop to praise great her--
The sun, raising its cape,
As the world begins a new day.
