Stephanie
By Shannon Giel (September 1999)

The dreams are fading
I cannot see
We could have been so many things
It could have been the world

Childhood hopes vanished once
We were left clinging to the aftermath
We gazed through the window
Yet the light was blinding
I cannot find you, my friend
help me please

The dreams are fading
I cannot see
We could have been so many things
It could have been the world

Time has aged us, our innocence lost
Jaded youth, we cannot see
What became of the children we were?
You, my dear famous writer, and I, artist extraordinaire?
Where are we now, on this bitter travel worn road?
Did we lose our way at a fork in our path?

The dreams are fading
I cannot see
We could have been so many things
It could have been the world

Peaceful gardens, a stroll with love
laughing children, we'd raise as sisters
But look, it vanishes, I cannot see them
Where is your prince, my sister, and where is mine?
Will we let it end this way, slipping past our fingers...?

The dreams are fading
I cannot see
We could have been so many things
It could have been the world
