Chapter 3
A girl entered the pub and walked towards the bar. Robert's eyes lit up and he smiled. "Well, speak of the devil and who shows up," Robert commented to no one in particular. He watched her as she engaged the bartender in simple conversation. She had yet to see him, but he observed her. He drunk down the last of his drink and stood up.
He walked over to the bar and nodded at her and the bartender. "Could I get a refill on my drink," Robert asked the bartender. April smiled a little and her eyes lit up. "Good day, April. How are you doing today," Robert asked her. "I am doing well, Robert. Enjoying the food today," she inquired. "Yes, very much so. This place has a lot to offer," he commented.
"Is there anything else I can do for you sir," the bartender asked. Robert shook his head and replied, "No Thank you." He looked at April. His world just brightened up a few levels. He couldn't help, but notice how pretty she looked. Of course, he was biased, but bias is not always bad. "Take care, April. I shall see you again soon," Robert said with a smile.
"Yes, sometime again," April commented with a smile. Robert nodded and walked away back to his table. He could feel her eyes upon him, but they had to hide some of their passion here. It wasn't appropriate to show it when she was working. He knew that there was another time for that.
Robert opened his journal and began to write. "When I look into her eyes, I can see so much. I can see her love. I can see her. There is so much I've wanted to say to her, but sometimes am so scared. Why scared? Cause I love her. Cause I don't want to ever lose her. Am I a fool? Am I crazy? Maybe so, but for her. I love her. I just hope that she knows how I feel.
"It's the little things that she does. It's the times that she takes my hand when I least expect it. It's the times that she listens to me. It's the times she seems to care about what I care about. It's the times that we talk. It's the times we don't talk, but just sit there together in each other's arms letting the breathe of nature enrapture us.
"I see the way she looks at me. I can tell how she feels. I can feel it in the way our eyes meet. The way the passion flows through her hands. The way that her eyes glance my way. The gentle hug she gives. The times she wants to hold on longer, but know that she can't. I can see it all. If I were to say that it was one way, I would be lying. I love her. Can I tell her all this? Of course... but will she tire of what I have to say?
"I hope that never happens. Why should it? She loves me and I love her. It's not everyday one gets to share what we have. It's not everyday one gets to be near the one they love. A great day it is. She just knows how to make me feel better no matter what is happening. How can I feel too bad when she is around? She lifts my heart up. The thought of her near make my heart jump for joy. I feel so luckly to have the chance to be with her."
Robert put down his journal and smiled. He watched her interact with the customers. Grinning, he watched her moves and admired her. Her customer service he gently glanced at. Watching her move in a dream world of his own, he smiled. It was always nice to watch someone who you care about at a distance. Admiring her was a hobby of his. A hobby she didn't seem to mind either.
Robert stood up and walked towards the exit. He nodded towards her and smiled. She returned the smile and nodded. Stepping out the door, Robert began to whistle the old secfenia anthem and skip down the road. She shook her head and laughed internally.
