Chapter 4

The white light cleared and a headache replaced it. "Where am I," Amindamula asked. His vision cleared and he noticed the uniform of a New Fullerium officer. "Take it easy, there. You've been through a lot," the officer told him. Amindamula sighed and closed his eyes passing into unconciousness.

"He's been doing that off and on for the past few days. We're lucky we found him when we did. I'm not sure he would still be alive if we hadn't," the nurse told the officer. "I see. Any ideas on who he is and why he was there," the officer asked. "No sir, but it appears as if he was very close to the explosion," the nurse commented. "Maybe an imperial scum," the officer questioned. The nurse shrugged.

The nurse and the officer watched as Amindamula began to sweat. "What's happening to him," the officer asked. "It seems like he is having a nightmare, sir," the nurse suggested. They stared into his closed eyes and watched as they twitched.

Amindamula sat in a field smiling with a gentle breeze brushing against his cheeks. Butterflies flew around him and he laughed. He hadn't felt so free and so happy in a long, long time. He could smell the fresh crisp air. The flower petals in the air tickled his nose. Laughter filled the air around him.

He smiled and turned around to see the image of Liza. She sat alone crying and his heart sank. "What's wrong Liza," he asked her. She just sat crying and the color in her face was gone. He stood up and walked over to her. He put his arm around her shoulder and she looked up at him in confusion.

"Are you a ghost," she asked. "Liza, no, it is me... Amindamula... are you feeling alright," he asked. She blinked and tried to gather herself together. "I must be losing it... It can't be... It can't be true..," she tried to convince herself. "What can't be true, hun," he asked her. "You... aren't you... dead," she inquired. Amindamula looked at himself and at her confused.

He hugged her and giggled. "My silly girl, I'm here. I'm alive. It's just that I am far away," he told her. "Oh... I miss you. I thought you were dead. They said you were," she informed him. "Me? Nope. I'm just away. I'll see you very soon. I promise," Amindamula told her. "I expect it," she commented.

"I love you Liza. I'm sorry it took so long for me to quit. I just need to make sure it was all done and then I'll be home," Amindamula said. "okay, but don't take too long. I need you back. I don't know if I can survive without you," Liza told him. They hugged and she seemed to fade out of existance. By the time Amindamula noticed, he was hugging thin air.

Amindamula looked down at the ground and felt a wave of lonliness and fear. "Why didn't I quit a lot earlier for her? Why didn't I get out a few years ago? Why did I make her wait so long? Why does it feel like she's gone? Why can't I seem to have her close anymore? Why do I feel so different? Why," he asked himself impatiently.

He laid down and closed his eyes. He slowly faded away into a bright white light. A voice came to him. "Amindamula.... what you knew is gone. You are no longer with them. Your journey has just began," the voice commented. "Who are you," Amindamula asked. "I am Michael Angelo of your world. I need you to find me in the world you are heading to. Let him know that there has been a horrible imbalance created in our world. That is your mission," the voice told him.

"I'm sorry, but I can't go on any more missions. I must go back and marry my girl," Amindamula informed Michael Angelo. "I'm afraid that's impossible. She's gone. But you don't know that yet... You won't believe it yet... You will," Michael Angelo's voice told him. Amindamula looked confused and puzzled. The white light vanished and he was surrounded by darkness.

In the darkness, he saw Liza stretch out her hand towards him and cry out, "I love you, Amindamula." He reached to get closer to her, but every attempt failed. She seemed to get further and further away with each passing second. "I love you too, Liza," he yelled towards her disappearing shadow.

Suddenly, the room turned white and he was being held down by the nurse. "It's okay... It's okay. Everything will be okay," she told him reassuringly. "I'm sorry... it was just a bad dream," Amindamula informed her. "I know," she said with a smile wiping his forehead.

The officer stared at him. "So, you know what you were doing before you were here," he asked Amindamula. Amindamula nodded. "Would you like to inform me," the officer questioned. "I had to destroy the tower to help the people," Amindamula commented. "I see. Excellent. That's all we needed to make sure of," the officer told him. Amindamula watched as the officer was about to leave.

"Wait, can you tell me one thing," Amindamula asked. "Maybe. What is your question," the officer inquired. "Did it work," Amindamula asked. The officer grinned and replied, "Yes, it did. We ended up saving a lot of life because of it." Amindamula grinned too feeling the pride rising in his chest. "Am I free to go," Amindamula asked. "Yeah, the nation of New Fullerium has no quarrel with you," the officer said exiting the place.
