Maute Nuela (Part I)

Chapter 3

A knock came on Robert's door. He crept out of bed and answered the door. April smiled and asked, "Did I wake you?" Robert shrugged. "I needed to wake up anyway. What time is it," Robert inquired. April kissed his cheek. "That late, eh," Robert commented. "I'll be ready in a few moment. Make yourself at home," Robert said as he kissed her lips.

April threw her arms around him and gave him a kiss on his lips. "I'm not going anywhere, am I," he asked with a smile. "What do you think," she stated with a grin on her face. Robert snuggled next to her and held her tight. "I don't think there's any place I'd rather be," he whispered into her ear. "Good," she whispered back.

Their hearts were racing and their thoughts were emotions with occasional words. This was their place in time. This was where everything in the world made sense. Even when things were roguh, the gentle embrace could wipe it away. It was a special place they could retreat to and no one could harm them.

They closed their eyes and just listened to their bodies. there are very few intime things as listening to your beloved's heartbeat knowing that the heart is filled with love for you. She knew it well. He knew it well. Words were not needed int hei conversation. They relaxed and they were one.

She could feel their love warming her heart and her body. She was in complete bliss. She knew that all was well with the world. She knew that she was loved for who she was and not what she had. She knew that no matter what people told her she knew she was special. He had helped her understand that.

She just let herself completely go in the moment. She seemed to drift off into a light sleep knowing her dear was near. She was completely relaxed. She felt as if she was a puddle of being that was comforted in ways she never quite understood before. They were there. They were happy. They were together. They were.

She could feel his hand gently running through her hair. She could feel his breathe near his. She could feel him so close. She knew how he felt, but that didn't stop her heart from racing hearing those simple three words. After all, why wouldn't it? She had invested quite a bit of time into him and he had invested quite a bit of time into her.

After all that they had been through, things were finally working for them again. The pains and tears of yesterday are gone. They were together. She felt his fingers tracing the edges of her ears. She had missed that for so long. She thought for the longest time that she would never feel it again. Soothing was just the tip of the iceberg of what that did to her.

She could feel his breath against her ear and she just melted away. Her body had ached for this day to come. Everything was going the way she wanted. He seemed to know exactly what she wanted. A gentle kiss placed by her ear with a little whisper of his feelings made her smile. So many things she thought. So many things she wished.

She laid her arm onto his. Everything was getting very blurry in her memory. She just knew how she felt. She was filled with such love and such intense feelings. Nothing in the world could ever tell her that this wasn't real. After all, all her senses flared out with such pleasure that most people only wish for.

"April," Robert said in her ear. April slightly opened her eyes. "For the memories of yesterday, the happiness of today, and the promise of tomorrow, I love you," he whispered. April smiled and replied, "For all of that, I love you too." He gently placed a finger on her lips. Her eyes closed and he gently traced her lips feeling her warm lips quivering with excitement.

"You've waited so long for me. You've wanted me for so long. But you know this is just a dream. You saw me die. You saw me slip away," Robert said. April opened her eyes. "What do you mean," April asked with the color of her face draining. "You are dreaming of me. I am not far from you, but I am not here," Robert informed her.

"But you are in my arms. You are here. I can feel you," April protested. Robert began to fade out of her arms. "I always exist with you," his voice informed her. "Where are you, Robert," April asked empty armed. April turned around in his room and saw its emptiness. He was indeed not here.

She walked over to the card she gave him and wiped the dust off. She opened up a dresser drawer of his and saw more stuff that she had given him. Everything was wrong. Time had passed and he was gone once again. But how? Why? She wanted him close. Wasn't it only fair?

She felt to her knees and cried on the floor. "Robert, where are you," she yelled out. She felt her chest glow with warmth. "I am in your heart forever. I am yours," his voice said echoing in the distance. "Come back to me, please. I want you," April begged. "I am always with you in spirit," his voice said.

A breeze caressed her cheek. "Feel my kiss forever for your kiss I could never forget," his voice whispered. A tear dripped off her cheek and moistened the floor below. The world turned a dreary gray and she could feel the cold of the world pushing against her. "He never loved you," a female voice rasped. "Shut up! He loved me much more than anyone ever did," April yelled out.

"April, Maute Nuela is a city of dreams. You are the key. Go there and you'll find answers. Ignore me and your sadness will just multiply," another female voice commented. "Ignore it! Ignore it! You don't need it! You are too strong. You don't need love. It can't be found! Don't waste your time. Don't waste anything. After all, love is futile and happiness can't be obtained," the first female voice informed her.

April yelled out in agony and fell to the floor. The room around her drifted away and she was standing in the middle of town crying. People around her were laughing. She could overhear bits and pieces of what they were saying. They were laughing at how inferior she was. They were laughing at how much she would be nothing.

She stared up at the sky and saw the sky open up onto her. The rain drops soaked her to the bone. She could see the lightning cross the sky. Then, a single drop floated above her eyes. She could make out Robert's face in it. "I love you," it whispered as it dropped onto her cheek. She closed her eyes and it was dark.
