Death of a Friendship
By Jon Westrick (October 29, 2003)

I wanted to love
But my love
was misplaced
I wanted to give
But I had nothing
You'd take
I wanted to help
but instead I hurt
I wanted to laugh
but now I just cry
Little to smile about
I weep and I sigh
Mourning our friendship
gone, buried and lost
Mourning our friendship
Soon turned to dust
For you my dear
Rhonda, I wanted be
The best friend you
Ever would see
Instead I became
a thorn in your side
a friendship once close
has now grown old and died
The brightest of all flowers
wither and fade
The best of all friendships
go down to the grave
