The Little Girl
By Jon Westrick (1995)

A little girl.
A very little girl
In a sad, sad, world.
A child in darkness and rain
Filled with uncertainty and pain.
She grew to see a world so unfair
No one seemed to notice her pain nor care,
So she fought back to make herself a safe place
To be strong and never let the hurt show in her face.
Will that hardened, saddened heart be ever soon to melt?
Will the suffering she feels cease to be ever be felt?
Yes, the great God will heal all her aches one day.
With Christ a new age will come without delay
Then her happiness will be here to stay.
There will be a new world.
Not this old, torn world,
But a happy world
For a very, very
Little girl.
