If Wishes Were Like Kisses

If wishes were like kisses
Then fishes would be
Like stars of the sea.
If I could wish
And that were enough
For love to grow
I could not have to worry
If I was good enough
For a sweet young woman
To fall in love with me.
If kisses were like wishes
I would have kissed
More than one girl,
And no one would laugh
And say I had no hope
When it comes to love,
And no one could condescendingly say
That my time will come
Because it will already be here.
