Sweetness

My life is bittersweet,
For despite my loving heart
I have suffered long in life
Because of my private demons,
The situations I find myself in,
And a past that never lets go.
You are sweetness,
Though you may not know it,
A beautiful young lady
With an intelligent mind
And a gracious, gentle heart.
I cannot help but feel
That you like me too,
But that you just want
Me to wait for you
Until the time is right.
That would be pure sweetness,
You and me together,
For I believe
We would love each other
In a pure and wonderful way,
With lots of affection,
And a possible trip to the altar,
If we truly are right for each other,
Which I cannot tell now.
But that would be sweetness.
