Chapter 2

The days seemed to pass and Fue de Joie's wife became a representative for the Secfenia Senate. Fue was proud of her. However, he missed the days that they spent away from each other. They both knew they loved each other, but the hated the distance that their duties put between them. However, they brought great glory to Puria together. They knew it. They worked hard for Puria. All seemed to be good for them.

Fue's wife was out late one night after her husband came to visit. Her mind was filled with many problems. She had watched as Elizabeth had started to abuse her power. She had imprisonered her former husband who was now free. She was worried about the bad blood. Elizabeth said that she no longer harbored ill feelings. Maybe that was true... but her former husband. What did he think? Many of these problems and more flowed through her head. She decided that she would take a stroll by Elizabeth's place.

She arrived by way of the back of the property. She took a few moments to gather and prepare her thoughts. Should she mention her fears? Should I ask for the vacation time that I've wanted to spend time with Fue? She stood there. She noticed one of the lights on in the back rooms. She slowly approaches the room to see two figures. However, something told her that something was definately wrong.

She rushed towards the window to see the face of Robert Russ III laughing. "As you die quickly, Elizabeth, know that revenge is a dish best served for those who go against fate," Robert said laying her on the bed. "When they find you in the morning, it will be too late. The poison will not be traceable," he told her with her face frozen in terror. She had lost the ability to move. She just felt her life slipping away.

Fue's wife ran away into a forrest and cried and cried. She stayed there all night and slept there. After a night of sound sleep and part of a day, she woke up. She had to do something. She found the way back to her Fenia living quarters. She showered quickly and sent a messenger to her husband to tell him that things were changing for the worse and she knows why. The messenger went quickly and she headed towards the palace.

The guards let her in and she marched towards the royal quarters. She opened the door and Robert Russ III was sitting there. "Good morning, Lady de Joie," he said with a smile. "Why did you," she asked. Robert grimaced at her. "You wouldn't understand. You've never been locked in a jail cell for a long time. You've never had a prison raid take you out of one prison just to put you in another. You've never had your ex-wife imprison you for no reason," he told her. "That didn't give you a right to kill her," she blasted out. Robert laughed. "What do you mean? I have the right to settle the score. She was going to led me rot in that jail cell. If it wasn't for my servants, I would have been died alone," Robert told her.

"You monster. I can't let you get away with that," she said. "I'm afraid there is nothing you can do. You know way too much for your own good," Robert commented. "What's that supposed to mean," she asked. Robert smiled. "Let's just say that there is no way you are leaving this building alive. I'll make sure of that," he stated.

"The people will hear about it. The Secfenia Central Guard won't stand for it. Your rule will be short," she zinged out to him. "Sweety pie, you have no idea how the real world works. Love is a nice idea, but it doesn't last. Hurt is all you get. Your husband is probably home with another woman as we speak. You'll never know though. I'll let you die with the false hopes of love," he told her.

"By the way, thanks for the good idea," he said after a moment pause. "What idea," she asked. Robert smiled. "Let it be known that the Secfenia Central Guard will be disbanded," he said to no one in particular. "It must have been due to that traitor Fue de Joie who threatened the life of most of the senators and the Governor himself," he told her. She looked at him tears in her eyes. "You bastard. How dare you talk about my husband like that. If you have one ounce of honor left in you, you'd never do that," she said with a red face of anger.

Robert took out his dagger and flung it at her. It landed squarely in her chest where her heart was. She looked down at it and up at him in shock. She slid down to the floor. "Your time has come to an end," he commented as he twisted the dagger and then cleaned it off on her shirt. "Stupid girl," he said walking away to get a guard to clean up the mess.
