Chapter 3

Fue heard a knock on his door. His face brightened. "Is it she," he asked himself. He went to the door and opened it. His face dimmed a little. "Fue de Joie, right," the messenger asked. "Yep, that's right," he said. "Your wife sent a message that the world is getting worse and she knows why. She also said that she would let you know what she meant soon," the messenger said. Fue looked at him quizzically. "Okay," he commented. The messenger bowed and left. Fue closed the door wondering what that meant. A bad gut feeling started to flood him. He wanted to know what was going on.

He sat back down and felt the world around him spinning round and round. He tried to shake the feelings of worry and fear, but he could not. He heard another knock on the door. He stood up and opened the door. Fue opened it up and Jonathan Pickett II was there with his child. Jonathan walked past Fue and led the child to its father. "Where is my wife," he asked Jonathan. "Fue... we need to go," Jonathan told him. "Where is MY WIFE," Fue yelled louder.

Jonathan turned away for a second. "Fue, we have to go. I'll explain it all later," Jonathan told him. Fue slammed the door shut. "No, you will explain now. You will tell me right now or I'll... I'll... do something," Fue screamed. "Fue, you've got to calm down. This is a time of great woe. I'll tell you only if you promise to calm down," Jonathan promised him.

Fue sat down and angrily rapped on the table. "Fue, Robert Russ III killed your wife this morning," he told Fue. Fue stood up and grabbed some dishes off the table and threw them against the wall. Fue stood up and left the house. He ran off. Jonathan sighed. "I guess I have to try and find a good way to deal with this," Jonathan said.

Jonathan looks at the child. "What's your name," he asked the child. "My name is Fue de Joie II," the kid told him. "I see. I'm going to take care of you for a while. Okay," Jonathan told the kid. "Okay. Is my mommy and daddy going to be okay," the child asked Jonathan. Jonathan looked into the child's eyes and began to cry. He hugged the child and tried to comfort him. He knew that no words could describe the horror that the boy was to face in his life.

The boy's mother was dead and the boy's father was now an outlaw. His future will be filled with trials and adversities from early on. No child should ever have to face the burdens that will be thrown on him. The stormy seas of life would rock his boat from wave to wave giving him just enough time to recover before it brought another wave to attempt to capsize him.

Jonathan picked up the child and some of his belongings and headed on their new journey to what would be their new homeland. Jonathan looked back on the town of Puria with tears. He remembered his last visit was a much happier visit. Things had definately changed. The whole world changed. His own future became unclear. He and the rest of the Secfenia Central Guard scattered. They knew not where they could go. Thew knew not what their future was.

Fue upset and out of touch with reality was out in the forrest area of Puria beating up helpless plants. Another messenger found him out there. "What do you want," Fue screamed at him. "Tom was last seen in a raid against the Animal Empire... No one has seen him... we think he's... passed on," the messenger said with fear fleeing as soon as the last words left his mouth.

Fue slammed his head against a tree and collapsed. The world started to spin once more for Fue. This time his vision started to weaken. What he could see was a dark crimson color that seemed to envelope what little areas he could see. He tried to move his arms and legs, but alas he layed there motionless. "Is this the end of me," he asked fading into nothingness.
