Maute Nuela (Part II)

Chapter 2

"Your eyes still closed, honey," Robert asked. "Of course. Now, what's this surprise," April asked slightly impatiently. Robert pulled her forward just a little more. She could feel the ground change to a more grassy area. Robert tugged her near a bench. "Have a seat," he said. She sat down.

"Can I open my eyes yet," she asked him. "Not yet," he told her kissing her nose. He sat down next to her and put his arm around her. He had been meaning to bring here several times. After all, he knew that she loved nature. He hadn't gotten a chance until this moment to do it either. His previous attempts had failed due to conflicts in schedules or what not.

"You can open them now," he said with a smile. She opened her eyes and she gasped. "It's so beautiful, Robert! I've never seen such a beautiful garden," she informed him holding him close. "I thought you'd like this. I take it I'm not wrong," he inquired. April kissed his cheek. "No, silly, this is wonderful. Wow," she commented staring at the garden.

She could see little creatures hiding behind bushes. She could see flowers all over the place. She could see in the center a mad existance of vines and what not crawling all over the place. This was indeed a beautiful scene for her. It reminded her so much of the picture of the mythical gardens of Sueno Mal.

"I thought this might be a fitting birthday present for you. You are the most beautiful sight to me and I thought that I would show you what is to me the second most beautiful as a gift," he told her. She blushed slightly. He leaned over and kissed her nose. "My love, I am most blessed to be with someone as intelligent, kind, and beautiful as you. Not many have the priviledge of finding such a wonderful lady as you," he told her.

"I love you," she whispered trying to hide her tears. It was to no avail. Her tears slowly dripped out of her eyes and down her face. Feeling her tears across her face, she tried to turn away from him. He gently took his hand and wiped away her tears. Then, he took her hand and whispered back, "I love you too."

"You know how to touch my heart and my inner being. There is nothing I feel I can't tell you. Everything there is I want to share with you. I want to share so much with you and I am glad for what I have shared with you. You mean a lot to me and I can never thank you enough for all you have done," Robert told her.

April leaned into him and tried to keep her composure. How could she tell him all that she wanted to? There was just so much and no matter how many different ways she could think of none of them seemed good enough. She felt so much for him. She knew she cared for him deeply, but how to express it without blubbering and with expressing it all. She didn't know how.

It was simple, wasn't it? Isn't it easy to express yourself to the one you love? Isn't it easy for the words to come together? Well, maybe for you, but not for her. It wasn't a question of how she felt. She felt the same way he did, but he was always so much better at expressing himself than she was.

He had always found ways to surprise her pleasantly. This was no exception. She didn't even know that a place this beautiful still existed in the harsh reality that existed all around her. She had seen so much and yet so little. She was always told that this type of beauty didn't exist. Now, she knew better. There was just something very special about it all.

But how could she express what she felt deep down inside. She looked into his eyes. She knew she should tell him, but how? She had felt so guilty about not saying things before, but he never seemed to care. Somehow, he seemed to not doubt her love. But didn't he deserve to be told how she felt?

Sure, occasionally she would say things to him, but she felt that she never said it often enough. After all, he said how he felt quite often. Why didn't she? She knew she felt it. He knew she felt it. Many words she just wanted to say to him, but her voice failed her.

She stared seeing so much passion in his eyes. She could feel his love for her. Her eyes were filled with passion, with desire. He could see it too. "I see so much in those eyes. They tell me so much. They tell me how deeply you feel about me," he said with a grin.

"Do they," she asked in a whisper. "Yes, they do, my love," he told her as he leaned in and kissed her cheek. "They tell me how much you love me. They tell me how much you feel for me," he said. April looked at him and wondered if he could read her mind. Sometimes it felt like he did.

"Thank you, Robert for a perfect gift," April said trying to fight back more tears. "It's just what you deserve," Robert commented with a grin. They put their arms around each other and just held each other tight. Slowly, they lost sight of the garden around them as they melted into each other.

Their worlds were uniting. Their heartbeats becoming in sync with each other's. They enjoyed this opportunity, this chance and they were not going to let anything spoil it. After all, what they had was very special and very few were lucky to find it. They had found each other.

Robert was right about the garden being beautiful, but it wasn't the most beautiful thing there. The most beautiful thing there was the two of them. It would bring joy to their hearts for the rest of their lives, but they didn't fully realize that yet. They would in the time that would come forth. Of course, many things would happen in the future. After all, this was only their first trip to the garden.
