Reunion (Part I)

Chapter 2

April looked up at the cieling in her room. From there, she could see all sorts of stars that she had placed there. In the middle of the night, they would glow and represent the night sky during Spring. Laying in her bed, she looked up at them and smiled a little. It had been a rough day for her and yet the stars above seemed to offer some sort of comfort. Maybe it was just because it gave her time to be alone. Maybe it was the thought that she wasn't quite alone. Maybe it was just the chance to get away from the hectic environment around her at times.

"Had that really been who I thought it was? Could it be? It's been so long... it's been so long," she thought to herself. Thoughts of today wavered in her mind. She had caught glimpse of someone she had thought she had completely lost. Was he really back or was it her imagination playing a cruel trick on her? After all, our minds do like to play games with our emotions at times.

"If it was him, did he notice me at all? Did he remember me? I wonder what he felt," she asked herself. "I can remember many good times we had together. I love him so much," she commented. Her mind flowed forth warm feelings to her heart. Her memory decided that it would assist by giving glances of the past. Images of history of them together teased her left and right. She opened her arms and dived into them.

Closing her eyes, the world around her changed. Standing tall in a checked white and black dress, she smiled and turned around in a circle. She laughed a lil and remember where she was. She was at the walkway near the park. "He was so happy to see me, wasn't he," she thought to herself. Walking towards the park, she saw him sitting there next to the water. "Every time he would see me, he would light up," she commented. As if on queue, he turned around and grinned. His eyes lit up and one could tell easily how he felt about her.

"Hi, honey," he said standing. He walked up to her and hugged her. "It's so good to see you," he commented. "Sometimes I never told him how much I loved him. How much I really appreciated him. Did he know? Did he know how much I loved to be in his arms? Did he know how lost I got in him at times? He looked so happy. He was so happy and so was I," she said internally.

In each other's arms, she lost her thoughts. Just pure joy filled her. It was this moment that was so perfect. It was this time that he had told her that the world seemed so simple and so perfect. Were they holding each other for a second or for five minutes? Did it matter to them? Slowly they parted and he looked into her eyes. She saw so much. "I can see the love, the adoring nature of him in those eyes. I could see so much in them," she commented to herself.

He gently took his other hand and lightly touched her face. She closed her eyes and enjoyed his touch. Slowly, she could feel his hand trace her face. A smile appeared on her face as she was lost to just pure emotion. Thoughts came and go in half portions, but none that could be written down. He gently leaned forward and kissed her on the cheek. She knew his feelings for her. She just let herself enjoy each and every moment they had here.

"I love you," he whispered to her. She smiled and replied, "I love you too." He leaned in again and gently placed a kiss on her lips. She could feel herself filled with the passion that they shared. They felt so much for each other. They wrapped their arms around each other and held each other tight. Feelings, emotions, words, etc all mixed together as one huge potion. So much that they could say. So much that they thought. Sometimes how little they spoke. But it was in these quiet times, she knew him so well. His raw feeling and emotions flowed straight to her heart. She knew the simple truth that they were indeed a very good couple. They loved each other dearly.

A knock came out of nowhere and April was quickly returned to her bed. "You need to go to sleep, April. You have a long day tomorrow and you have to go to bed shortly," her mom informed her. "Yes, ma'am. I'm almost asleep," she said with a sigh. April rolled over on her side closed her eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.
